HOUSE IN THE WAY OF DIVORCE? advice?

after 25 years of being unhappy, my parents finally want a divorce. its for the best, because my father is kinda an alcoholic and he makes us upset. the only problem is-we have a house and if we sell it, we can get $900,000...but right now, nobody will buy it because people dont have money[high oil prices etc]..what do we do?HOUSE IN THE WAY OF DIVORCE? advice?

take a loss sell the house cheaper than asking price and everybody move on with there lives.
Yeah - if you lower your price, it will sell.





Your real estate agent says it's worth $900k, but if nobody is willing to actually pay that much, guess what? It's NOT worth $900k. Everyone wants to be told their house is worth more than it is. That's how real estate agents flatter their customers to get hired.
You don't have a house, your parents do. Usually when a couple divorces, the one who stays in the house buys the other one out. Let your parents and their lawyers figure it out. By the way, if nobody will pay $900,000 for a house, it isn't worth that any more. Your parents may have to lower their asking price.
Let your parents make their own decisions and not worry about $900,000......let them accept much less than that (nobody is immune to the effects of falling property values).





Remember you're not their boss, let them find peace and happiness in their lives.
leave in on the selling market for a while ,,,houses are still selling , but you have to drop the price,, it really your parent problem not yours
