After 2 years of separation can i get a divorce without the help of a solicitor.Divorce advice.?
Yes you can. Just go to the clerks office in your court office. You will pick up a do it yourself divorce booklet. It will cost you around 250.00 or so plus marshall fees to file. Good luck! :o)Divorce advice.?

Every state has its own laws. Look up that information (which can be found on the web). So long as there are no issues that need resolving which may require a lawyer (ie: child support, visitation, etc.), and he's also wanting out, then you may be able to handle your own divorce.

To protect yourself and whatever assets you have, a solicitor is your best bet. You can seek an annulment, but both parties must agree on every aspect of the division of assets. This can be done without a solicitor for the cost of filing the paperwork. Good luck and God bless.
The big question- Are there children involved? If you have had kids in this marriage then you need to get a lawyer, I think that you might want to discuss with the lawyer your options even if there are no children, just to be safe. You can't trust your soon to be ex.....he could go back on his word about everything, good luck.
Was it a legal seperation? I'd hire a lawyer just to be on the safe side.
After our legal separation of a year we got the paper work from the county clerks office and did it ourselves. It was a bit lengthy but simple and cost effective. There was no need to bring in lawyers when we had settled everything in our separation papers....This was in NY
